Colfax Launches Fluid-Handling Solutions e-Newsletter For Power Generation Market

August 5, 2008

RICHMOND, VA – August 5, 2008 – Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX), a global leader in fluid-handling solutions, announced today the launch of a quarterly e-newsletter to share knowledge about pump technology and best fluid-management practices for the Power Generation industry. The publication is targeted to engineers, architects, turbine maintenance engineers, designers and managers of Power Generation facilities.

Named PowerLine, the first issue is scheduled for this summer.

"There are many pumps within a Power Plant that move lubricating oil, fuel oil, coolants, waste and other liquids," said Sean McCandless, Colfax Power Generation Market Manager, and e-newsletter editor. "The better the pump is matched to its application and the more efficiently it runs, the lower its total cost of ownership will be.

"We want to establish an interactive dialogue with the key players in the market," he continued. "They'll be able not only to learn about the latest trends and Colfax's portfolio of pumps for critical Power Generation applications but submit questions to our engineers or send us an RFP/RFQ."

McCandless noted Colfax's deep application expertise in Power Generation. "We've already been writing trade journal articles and speaking at seminars about the challenges facing the industry and other pump technology topics," he said. "The e-newsletter is an ideal forum for us to share expertise with an even broader audience."

The first and future e-newsletters will feature articles by Colfax and Industry experts on pump and Power Generation topics. In the first e-newsletter, Jim Brennan, a Projects Manager for Colfax, reviews the application of high-efficiency pumps within the Power Generation application. Brennan has enjoyed a successful career within the pump industry; he is a member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers and has authored numerous articles for publications including Plant Engineering, Hydrocarbon Processing, Pumps & Systems, Chemical Engineering World, Oil & Gas Journal and others. He has spoken at or presented papers at technical conferences such as Pump Users Expo, Pump Symposium and Pumps & Systems Asia, and he co-authored the book Gulf Pump Guides: Progressing Cavity Pumps, Downhole Pumps and Mudmotors.
